Therapist & Founder

Our therapist Allie Spomer is a Licensed Professional Counselor (4223) in the State of Alabama. Allie has been treating strictly children and adolescents her entire career and is very passionate about these ages. After obtaining her Masters in Professional Counseling at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona, she and her family moved to Daphne, AL after a new job opportunity for her husband. Once arrived, Allie realized that although many therapists exist, there was a need for counseling services on the Eastern Shore that focused primarily on the treatment of child and adolescent mental health issues.

Throughout Allie’s career as both a child therapist and case manager, she has been able to develop individual and group treatment plans. These plans allow children from all walks of life to conquer daily battles as they develop into adults. She is an Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Level 2 trained therapist and has vast experience dealing with both acute trauma and general counseling issues.

Allie has her family, a sweet dog named Tinsel-Lynn that is in training to be a therapy dog, and a passion for helping children. She loves to spend time at the beach collecting play therapy sand for her clients and making sand castles with her son and husband. Please contact us today to find out how Allie can help your child thrive if he or she is in need of mental health support!

Therapy Dog (in-training)

Tinsel-Lynn is the official therapy dog (in training) of Life Anchors. She is a 1.5 year old AKC S.T.A.R. golden doodle and currently enrolled in specialized classes so that one day she can be a Canine Good Citizen and Certified Therapy Dog. Even though she is a pup in training, you may see her around the practice from time to time (as long as it's ok with you or your child)! Tinsel-Lynn's special ability is sensing emotion and is great at providing comfort during anxious or uncomfortable situations. She loves to play, give kisses, act silly and make people smile. We can't wait for you to meet her!

Student Intern

Our intern Emmy is excited about pediatric mental health and advocacy. She is receiving degrees in Psychology and Criminology from the University of Mobile and will attend graduate school soon. During her time in special education and as a registered behavior technician, she realized how much she enjoyed working with young children and their families. She loves being the connection between mental health support and the child. Emmy is passionate about understanding how the brain and behavior overlap to best help our clients! Emmy’s primary focus in mental health is neuropsychology, which is how we learn why children act the way they do. While she enjoys working with adolescents, her focus in this area equipped her specifically to manage developmental issues. Emmy loves providing resources for early intervention to clients and their families! Outside of work, she serves college students as a resident assistant and she loves to read. Emmy loves being the first person that parents call, and is excited to hear from you!
